Emergency Services: Rent, Utilities & Food

Homeless Prevention Services

We offer back rent assistance and utility (PSE&G, water, heating) assistance to local residents, who qualify, with a shut-off notice.  Assistance is provided by a one-time supplemental payment towards rent, electricity, water or heating bill, in an effort to avoid eviction or service interruption.

Rent Assistance

Service Area: East Windsor, Ewing, Hamilton, Hopewell, Pennington, Robbinsville, Trenton, West Windsor, and Yardville

Application Requirements:

– Income under 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines per Family Size

– Proof of income for ALL ADULTS in the house (last 4 weeks are required)

– Verification/Determination letters as source of income are accepted and required

– Birth Certificates for ALL children in the household

– NJ Driver’s License or Photo ID with your current address for ALL ADULTS in the household

– Social Security Cards for EVERYONE in the household (including children)

– Lease or Rental Agreement

– Summons or Eviction Notice

Utility Assistance

Food Pantry

Are you in need of food?  We may be able to help.  Our pantry, which is a member of the South Regional Food Bank, provides emergency food to individuals and families in need, once a month.  If you qualify, you can drop-in and pick-up canned goods, rice, pasta, etc.  enough to feed and satisfy the needs of your family.*

*Due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, our requirements for eligibility have been relaxed and our hours of operation have changed.
