Gateway Head Start

Head Start is a federal program that promotes the school readiness of children ages birth to five, of low-income families, by enhancing their cognitive, social, and emotional development.

Head Start programs provide comprehensive services to enrolled children and their families, which include education, health, nutrition, social development and any other services deemed necessary.  Head Start services are designed to be responsive to each child and family’s ethnic, cultural, and linguistic background.

The John O. Hamilton Neighborhood Center, Inc. is home to the Hamilton area Gateway Head Start.

Hours: 8am – 4pm; Monday – Friday, except for major holidays and staff training days; program follows the school district calendar.

Family Transition Support Services (FTSS)

Family Transition Support Services (FTSS) is a pioneer in the field of strength-based support for children and families.  Since 1996, their on-going mission has been to provide children and families with the skills needed to lead productive lives defined and measured by their own goals. FTSS utilizes a strength-based approach to empower children and families to make constructive decisions for themselves in the familiar surroundings of their home and community. Our highly trained mentor and clinical providers (LCSWs, MSWs, and BSWs) provide mentoring and counseling services throughout New Jersey including Burlington, Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth, Ocean, Somerset and Warren counties.

The John O. Hamilton Neighborhood Center, Inc. is home to the Hamilton area afterschool program of Family Transition Support Services (FTSS).

Hours: 2pm – 5:30pm; Monday – Friday, except for major holidays and staff training days; program follows the school district calendar.
