The Center will be closed on Friday, June 19th in observance of Juneteenth.  Juneteenth (short for June Nineteenth) commemorates the effective end of slavery in the United States. It marks the day in 1865 when Union troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, to announce that the last enslaved Black Americans were free—over two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed.
